I bought this iPod back in November '07 and it was great. However a year later the headphones socket stopped sending sound to the left ear, something thats expensive to fix myself. Fortunately, I had the complimentary Applecare and was sent a new one free of charge. However 3 months later THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED AGAIN!!!. It's not the headphones, I've checked and it's not damaged I've kept it immaculate. I'm almost sure that applecare won't send me a third one so I'm now very disappointed. I'm going to have to get on a 25 mile bus journey to get to my nearest Apple store.



ARRRRGHHH!!!!! EXPLETIVE, If I wanted to play games, I'd have bought a DS.

I actually think the ipod touch is a fabulous piece of technology, but, I've judged on the weakest link, vista compliance. All other generations of ipod are compliant so why not the touch? I've tried every possible option but end up with the message that it's a camera and no drivers are available.

I got the 8GB iPod touch for christmas and keep discovering more great things as I use it.

The music player is the least important function for me. I really like the way it displays photos, I am using the calendar (which incidentally does allow you to key in new appointments with a touch screen Qwerty keyboard that's easy to use)and I'm transferring all my contact information to Outlook so that I can sync it with the ipod and have a great address book at hand. The clock functions are brilliant too.



Downsides...

Chargers and car adapters etc are ridiculously expensive

8Gb is too small as I have exceeded this capacity in music alone and have to hand select songs.... shame it is not expandable.

I bought my iPod touch last Christmas and fell in love with it immedietly. However... now, after just nine or ten months it has already started to 'play up'. It pauses randomly and sometimes i can see the time slider going through a song but no sound. i took it back to the apple shop, they put the new updates on it (free of charge i'd like to say ;)) but i still have the same problem i.e keeps pausing randomly.

i would suggest that you don't buy the iPod touch as i am completely convinced that mine will stop working altogether JUST after my one year gurantee runs out. proof of this: my friend and her sister both bought an iPod on the same day last year and just after their one year gurantee ran out... they both stopped working within hours of each other. many others i've spoken with have had the same experience.

i have now vowed never to buy another apple product and will now have to buy a new mp3 player from a different company and i hope i don't have the same problem.

My first proper iPod - and it's great!! If I could have afforded the bigger capacity then I would have got it - thats its only downfall. Just means you manage your music better and you always have something different on your iPod. Saying that I've crammed about 30 albums, countless photos and many iPod applications (just the freebie ones to check tham out!) Definatley a well deserved treat to yourself!

I bought the iPod Touch a couple of weeks ago and am in love with it. This is such an awesome piece of equipment. It is so easy to navigate around the menus. The music function is excellent, I especially like how you can scroll through the album art by turning the iPod landscape. The video playback is excellent. The app store is a really good feature as you can download apps to use, some are free. I got a sports app which shows live scores for the NBA, MLB, NFL, football, tennis... The internet function is really neat and I was able to connect to my WiFi network at home quickly and with no fuss. Accessing email is also a good function, altough you have to be near a wireless network to access them.



The only negatives are the battery life and the fact that there is no flash player to view videos on the internet (apart from the youtube app alreasy on). It doesn't take long for the battery to drain even without watching video I have found.



Overall this is an excellent product and worth purchasing if you don't want to get the iPhone. This is basically the same apart from the phone capabilities.

Beware, some of the sellers on Amazon are advertising they have the more popular, more expensive 2nd generation ipod touch's for sale. We bought one and it is most certainly not a 2nd generation ipod touch, it is the cheaper 3rd generation ipod touch.

Ask the seller directly for confirmation before you pay MORE for a 3rd gen ipod than you can get one in a local shop for.

Ipod touches are brilliant though, almost like a mini-laptop. I am very pleased with the item, but annoyed at the tricks some sellers use to sell their stock quicker.

Bought this without knowing too much about the device.



Initially I wanted something to store music and photos. It does this really well but the wi fi internet and email usage in my house have made it a far more useful piece of kit than I ever could have imagined. I have not opened my lap top since I bought this.



8Gb is easily big enough for all my needs and that includes 1700 photos so far plus a lot of music. I still have 5 GB left.



The company supplying did not provide great instructions but after one day every thing seemed to sync up fine.
